Sarah studied Biological Science at the University of Guelph, specializing in Marine Biology with a minor in Biochemistry. While attending university her mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, transforming Sarah’s life. By witnessing firsthand the effects of this disease, Sarah became intrigued by the human body, its movement, and how the regular practice of controlled manipulation of the muscles and a person’s breath can result in incredible improvements in both physical and mental health. While living in Mexico, Sarah became the caregiver and close friend of a woman who was in a near death accident and as a result is now a quadriplegic. Meeting this woman combined with years of caring for her mother gave Sarah the inspiration to make a change in her life. Sarah returned to Canada in 2005 and studied under Moira Meritthew at Stott Pilates in Toronto in the comprehensive mat and reformer trainer certification program. Motivated by a desire to make a positive change in both her life and the lives of those around her, she looks forward to advancing her studies and sharing her experiences now that she has returned to New Orleans.
